Join father-daughter duo, Iain and Isla Campbell, in this half-day class as they share the secrets to making two classics of Scottish Baking: Oatcakes and Selkirk Bannocks*.

Coffee and tea is served with some Campbell's cakes while the baking is in the oven.

This fun, informal but informative class is suitable for beginners to experienced bakers aged 16 years and older. The class is 3 hours long.

*In November 2017 we were honoured when Wendy Barrie of the Scottish Good Food Guide added our Selkirk Bannock to the Slow Food Scotland Ark of Taste due to the traditional methods and natural ingredients we use.

Since then, Iain has demonstrated how he makes his Selkirk Bannock at the Cookery Theatre at the Royal Highland Show multiple times.

What a fun day it was. New skills learned — including additions to stuff I already new. I will definitely be making the two products we made again. I have been saying so to many of my friends ever since.

Baking in Crieff

I've recently had a wonderful experience learning how to bake Scottish classics such as oatcakes and Selkirk Bannock. Even with zero baking experience, Isla & Iain managed to turn me into a baker for the day. This skill can now be continued and expanded upon at home. Not only do you get a bag full of your baking home with you, the class is full of interesting history and general baking tips, with no questions too daft.
This is a thoroughly entertaining and educational class that proves to be all too quick. However, in case you cant remember all of what you were taught, the recipes are E-mailed to you for later review. Definitely a recommend.
